Mangrove rehabilitation in the Bulu Cindea Mangrove Tourism Area, Pangkep Regency, faces physical disturbances from waves, tidal currents, and marine debris. This community service program aimed to apply hanging bamboo sleeves as an initial seedling protection method through community participation. The approach combined outreach, demonstrations, hands-on mentoring, sleeve construction, and planting of 60 Rhizophora seedlings on 26 July 2026. Initial monitoring took place from 27 July to 3 August 2026 using visual observations and photographic documentation. The application combined bamboo sleeves suspended from a supporting frame with practical community mentoring. During the observation period, the structures remained in position, most seedlings appeared upright, and some leaves showed yellowing. Marine debris was observed on the outer structures. These findings describe initial implementation under the observed conditions; they do not establish a survival rate or superiority over other planting methods. Stage-specific participant counts and pre-intervention seedling mortality data were unavailable for analysis. The method offers a practical basis for further community-based trials. Monitoring for at least six months, baseline measurements, and comparable planting treatments are recommended to evaluate survival, growth, and structural durability.

Technological advancements that have made access easier for all users have increased social media usage among Generation Z, which in turn has fueled a “Fear of Missing Out” (FOMO) mentality and consumerist behavior. A lack of self-control and knowledge leads students to make impulsive purchases and lack an understanding of wise financial management. Therefore, financial literacy education was provided through Community Service using the Service Learning method, implemented for students in class X2 at Petra 3 Christian High School Surabaya so that students would gain an understanding of financial literacy from an early age. The Service Learning activity was carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The material was delivered through presentations, followed by discussions and a mini-quiz using the Wayground interactive platform, with the aim of making the activity interactive and increasing student participation throughout the session. The material covered the definition, impacts, causes, and ways to address consumerist attitudes, followed by an introduction to the basics of capital market investment instruments, namely stock and mutual fund investments. The results of the Service Learning activity indicated students’ enthusiasm, as reflected in their participation in answering questions during the interactive mini-quiz on Wayground. Their correct answers also suggested an understanding of consumer behavior and the fundamentals of stock and mutual fund investments.

Pasuruan Regency is known as a center for the embroidery industry in East Java, with BANGKODIR (Bangil Kota Bordir) as the center of activity for artisans. However, embroidery artisans, dominated by women, face serious challenges in the form of a declining number of craftspeople due to stagnant traditional design innovations and computer embroidery competition. This community service activity aims to increase the competence and design innovation of 40 artisans at the Bangil Embroidery Center through training and mentoring in digital art technology using the Fashion Color Match and IbisPaint applications. The implementation method includes training in color combination theory (color harmony), digital design practice of Pasuruan decorative motifs, production assistance, and evaluation based on pre-test, post-test, observation sheets, and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) questionnaires. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participant capacity across all evaluation indicators. Participants' understanding of color theory increased from 35% to 100%, digital application skills increased from 20% to 95%, color selection time efficiency increased from 50% to 100%, and independent implementation capability on embroidery designs increased from 30% to 90%. The implementation of the application was proven to reduce color design time by 50–60% and lower production error revisions by up to 40%, while supporting women's economic empowerment and achieving SDG No. 9 and SDG No. 12.

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran remaja mengenai bahaya obesitas serta pentingnya penerapan pola hidup sehat. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk sosialisasi interaktif kepada siswa dengan menggunakan metode komunikatif dan media edukasi yang menarik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terkait dampak obesitas, pentingnya menjaga pola makan sehat, meningkatkan aktivitas fisik, serta mengurangi gaya hidup sedentari. Partisipasi aktif siswa selama kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan interaktif efektif dalam menyampaikan materi kesehatan kepada remaja. Selain memberikan manfaat edukatif, kegiatan ini juga menekankan pentingnya keberlanjutan program kesehatan di lingkungan sekolah melalui kerja sama dengan tenaga kesehatan dan pengembangan program sekolah sehat. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong perubahan perilaku sehat secara berkelanjutan serta menjadi upaya preventif dalam menurunkan risiko obesitas dan penyakit tidak menular pada remaja.

Household food security continues to face various challenges, particularly the low consumption of fruits and vegetables and the underutilization of home yards as a source of family food. Many backyards have not yet been put to productive use by the community. The PKK in Pranan Village, Polokarto Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency, still relies on purchasing vegetables to meet household food needs. In addition, their understanding of balanced nutrition and the utilization of harvested produce to support family dietary intake remains limited. This community service program aimed to enhance the utilization of home yards, improve knowledge of vegetable cultivation, and increase awareness of balanced nutrition. The program employed a participatory approach involving 46 PKK members through training on vegetable cultivation using polybags, distribution of starter kits, planting practices, regular monitoring, nutrition education, and cooking demonstrations. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge, as indicated by the improvement in the average score from 72.71 to 83.06, representing a 14.23% increase. Most participants successfully implemented the cultivation of spinach and cayenne pepper independently and maintained their crops throughout the mentoring period. Nutrition education also improved participants’ understanding of the “My Plate” concept. Overall, the program successfully strengthened community capacity in utilizing home yards as a source of household food and contributed to enhancing household food security and nutritional self-reliance.

The development of mathematical literacy in primary schools faces significant challenges due to shifts in national assessment policies and the rapid evolution of digital technology. This community service initiative aims to enhance the professional capacity and digital literacy of primary school teachers through integrated training covering the Academic Ability Test (TKA) in Mathematics, local ethnomathematics, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The implementation methodology includes coordination, needs assessment, interactive workshops, guided practical mentoring, and evaluation, involving teachers from private primary schools in Karanganyar Regency in July 2026. The outcomes demonstrate a significant improvement in teacher competency, evidenced by: (1) a deeper understanding of TKA Mathematics assessment instruments based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS); (2) the development of draft ethnomathematics teaching materials that incorporate local wisdom, such as the temples and batik traditions of Karanganyar; and (3) the creation of a prototype for an adaptive, interactive, AI-assisted mathematics game for primary school students. From a managerial perspective, this initiative encourages school administrators to integrate technology-based learning and establish professional learning communities among teachers, thereby fostering a sustainable capacity for independent innovation. This integration model holds great potential for broader replication to support the achievement of inclusive, high-quality education.

Guluk-Guluk Village possesses extensive cornfields, and a large portion of its population consists of cattle farmers. Residents bolster their household economies by taking on dual roles as both farmers and livestock keepers. The abundance of corn waste presents both a challenge and an opportunity for use as animal feed. This waste—comprising cobs, husks, leaves, ground corn residue, and stalks—is characterized by high crude fiber content, low nutritional value, and poor digestibility for livestock. Consequently, this initiative aims to encourage the community to reduce and repurpose such waste through appropriate technology, creating nutritious animal feed that complies with Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 31482:2017. This standard mandates a moisture content of 12.83% (max. 14%), a crude protein content of 16.12% (min. 13%), and a crude fat content of 0.96% (max. 7%). Furthermore, the ash content is capped at 12%, with a minimum Total Digestible Nutrients (TDN) value of 68%. This community service project involved several stages: preparation and outreach, two phases of direct training (theory and practice), ongoing mentorship, evaluation, and sustainability planning. The Community Service Program (PKM) from Annuqayah University, which focuses on producing animal feed using appropriate technology, engaged 28 participants, including village officials and local farmers. The participants showed great enthusiasm, viewing the program as a valuable opportunity to learn how to utilize agricultural waste that was previously discarded. This initiative serves as a strategic "zero-waste" solution, transforming agricultural byproducts into value-added goods—specifically, high-quality animal feed—while efficiently addressing challenges related to livestock feed supply.

Sports injury management learning for students of the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation (PJKR) Study Program is still largely conducted through classroom instruction and laboratory simulations, resulting in limited learning experiences in healthcare settings. This community service program aimed to strengthen sports injury management learning through collaboration between the PJKR Study Program of STKIP Citra Bakti and community health centers (Puskesmas) in Ngada Regency. The program was conducted from 24–28 November 2025 and involved 85 third-semester students assigned to five groups across five Puskesmas. Activities included orientation, service observation, interviews with healthcare professionals, demonstrations, simulations, reflection, report writing, and presentation of learning outcomes. The evaluation identified four major learning outcomes: understanding of sports injury management procedures, healthcare facilities and equipment, communication and collaboration with healthcare professionals, and the role of Puskesmas in the primary healthcare system. The program also strengthened interaction between the PJKR Study Program and Puskesmas as learning partners. Experiential learning through collaboration with primary healthcare facilities provided students with contextual learning experiences that connected academic knowledge with professional practice.

Lokakarya dan Pendampingan Literasi Multidimensional Bagi Guru SD di Komunitas Belajar Pedagogia UNY

21st-century education demands that elementary school teachers master multidimensional literacy, encompassing critical, creative, and collaborative skills. However, teachers' understanding remains largely confined to conventional reading and writing literacy. This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding and competence of elementary school teachers at the Pedagogia UNY Learning Community in designing and implementing multidimensional literacy-based learning. The method employed participatory workshops and intensive mentoring involving 33 teachers, with evaluation conducted through pretests and posttests. The results revealed a significant improvement in teachers' comprehension, evidenced by a 4.11% increase in the average posttest score and an 18.18% increase in the minimum score. Furthermore, the teachers successfully developed learning tools (teaching modules and student worksheets) integrated with four literacy dimensions: linguistic, cognitive, sociocultural, and developmental. It is concluded that the workshop and mentoring model proved effective in enhancing teacher capacity and holds potential for replication in sustainable professional development programs.

Sexual violence against children is a form of violation of children's rights that has serious impacts on the physical, psychological, and social development of victims. Children's limited understanding of self-protection makes them particularly vulnerable to sexual violence. Therefore, preventive efforts through education from an early age are essential. This Community Service Program aimed to increase the knowledge and awareness of female elementary school students regarding the prevention of sexual violence. The activity was conducted at SD Negeri 4 Menteng, Palangka Raya, involving 80 female students. The methods included interactive lectures, presentation of materials using illustrated media, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and ice-breaking activities through the educational song "Ini Area Privasiku" ("This Is My Private Area") as a medium to reinforce students' understanding of private body parts and self-protection. Evaluation was conducted through observation of participants' involvement and direct questioning throughout the activity. The results showed that the participants actively and enthusiastically engaged in all stages of the program and demonstrated improved understanding of private body parts, the distinction between safe and unsafe touch, the courage to refuse inappropriate actions, and the importance of reporting incidents to trusted adults. This activity is expected to contribute to efforts to prevent sexual violence against children and strengthen a culture of child protection within the school environment.

Sridadi Village, located in a mountainous region, has vast Arabica coffee potential, yet farmers' income remains constrained by traditional post-harvest practices. This Foster Village Empowerment (PDB) program aims to evaluate the effectiveness of primary and secondary innovations in enhancing production capacity, product quality, and local economic independence. The methodology combined appropriate technology transfer (hard technology) and capacity building (soft technology) backed by structured evaluation. Technological integration drastically improved operational efficiency: sorting capacity surged 20-fold from 10 kg/hour to 200 kg/hour, washing capacity rose 5-fold from 50 kg/hour to 250 kg/hour, and drying capacity tripled from 500 kg per 3 days to 500 kg/day. This technical advancement was complemented by a 30% increase in participants' business knowledge, reaching an average score of 82%. Consequently, green bean quality became more consistent, enabling downstream product diversification. Improved packaging and digital marketing strategies expanded market reach across three neighboring regencies and prepared partners for export readiness. Overall, this intervention demonstrates that technology integration and mentorship successfully foster sustainable rural economic self-reliance based on local resources.

The increasing amount of drinking water waste in the form of plastic cups has become a new problem faced by the people of Muara Tiga Village, so a solution is needed to overcome it. Therefore, this activity aims to help realize this solution by providing knowledge and skills to the PKK women of Muara Tiga Village, namely processing this waste into one of the materials for making hydroponics. The implementation method is training and mentoring for hydroponic production by participants after the training is given. After the participants independently implement hydroponic planting and maintenance. It is known that planting and maintenance carried out by participants in accordance with the instructions can grow well, while those who still have errors are known to have less fertility of hydroponic plants. It is hoped that participants are consistent in implementing hydroponics to meet family nutritional intake and become one of family income.

Workshop Optimalisasi Penggunaan Generative Artificial Intelligence dalam Pengelolaan Media Promosi Desa Kemuning Kabupaten Karanganyar

Tourism villages in Indonesia increasingly promote themselves without journalists, agencies or tourism offices standing between them and their publics, and generative artificial intelligence (AI) now offers to write and picture that promotion for them. This community service article reports and critically reflects on a one-day workshop held on 4 June 2026 in Kemuning, a tea-growing tourism village on the western slope of Mount Lawu, Karanganyar, Central Java. Twenty social media account holders from nine tourism and small-business sectors, working with the village tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis), learned prompting for text, AI-assisted visual and audiovisual production, and an ethics protocol on disclosure, copyright and fact verification, and then produced and presented their own promotional content. The programme was examined through qualitative description, authentic assessment of participants' products and a social-semiotic reading of the materials. Participants, several of whom had never used AI, produced video, carousel and single-post content, and the speakers selected five works as exemplary. Reading the outputs closely revealed a further, less visible result. Generative AI turns each account holder into a village spokesperson whose first audience is a model trained largely elsewhere, and in the samples examined the outputs drifted toward a generic tourist imaginary that left Kemuning's own rituals and histories unspoken. The article argues that AI training for villages in the Global South should be designed as representational custodianship rather than tool efficiency, and it sets out measurable steps for follow-up.

The 2026 Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang in Tanjung Atap Village was carried out with the aim of empowering the village community through innovative approaches in the fields of economy, environment, and infrastructure to create a competitive and sustainable village. This community service activity consisted of four individual work programs, namely: (1) digitalization of marketing for aluminum handicraft products as an effort to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs; (2) the creation of banners as a medium for business information and identity; (3) utilization of rice washing water to produce liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) to support the cultivation of home garden plants; and (4) the production and installation of road reflectors to improve road user safety. The implementation methods included observation, socialization, training, mentoring, and direct practice with the community. The results of the activities showed increased community understanding and skills in digital marketing, strengthened MSME business identities, utilization of household waste to produce useful products, and improved driving safety at accident-prone points at night. These programs are expected to be sustainable and replicable by the community and village authorities after the KKN program ends.

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang tahun 2026 di Desa Tanjung Atap dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberdayakan masyarakat desa melalui pendekatan inovasi di bidang ekonomi, lingkungan, dan infrastruktur guna mewujudkan desa yang berdaya saing dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini terdiri atas empat program kerja Individu, yaitu: (1) digitalisasi pemasaran produk kerajinan alumunium sebagai upaya peningkatan daya saing UMKM; (2) pembuatan banner sebagai media informasi dan identitas usaha; (3) pemanfaatan air cucian beras menjadi pupuk organik cair (POC) untuk mendukung budidaya tanaman pekarangan; dan (4) pembuatan serta pemasangan reflector jalan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan pengguna jalan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi observasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, dan praktik langsung bersama masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pemasaran digital, penguatan identitas usaha UMKM, pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga menjadi produk bernilai guna, serta peningkatan keselamatan berkendara pada titik-titik rawan di malam hari. Program-program ini diharapkan dapat berkelanjutan dan direplikasi oleh masyarakat maupun aparat desa setelah masa KKN berakhir.

Article Pemberdayaan Kader Posyandu Dalam Program GEMILANG (Gizi, Edukasi, Makanan Inovatif Laut Anak Nutrisi Golden) di Kelurahan Kolese

Stunting and child malnutrition remain pressing challenges in coastal areas such as Kolese Village, Baubau City, where despite abundant marine resources, a nutritional paradox persists with a stunting prevalence of 18.4%. The limited capacity of Posyandu (integrated health post) cadres in growth screening, nutrition education, and seafood processing constitutes a key barrier, while the utilisation of local marine products as innovative complementary feeding remains minimal. This community service programme aimed to strengthen the capacity of Posyandu cadres through the GEMILANG Programme (Nutrition, Education, Innovative Marine Food for Children's Golden Nutrition) to reduce malnutrition rates by downstreaming local seafood products. The activity was conducted in Kolese Village in May 2026, involving 10 active Posyandu cadres through a participatory, educational, demonstrative, and mentoring approach, comprising socialisation, nutrition training, hands-on processing of Indian mackerel-based products, and monitoring and evaluation using pre-test and post-test measures. The results showed significant improvement across all assessed aspects: management understanding rose from 55% to 100% (a 45% increase), food-processing skills rose from 49.09% to 100% (a 50.91% increase), and nutrition knowledge rose from 51% to 100% (a 49% increase). The programme also produced a standardised functional food product, Bakso GEMILANG, made from local mackerel. The implication is that Posyandu cadres were transformed from mere administrative recorders into competent, independent nutrition change agents. It is concluded that downstreaming local marine potential through cadre empowerment is an effective and sustainable strategy for addressing the nutritional paradox in coastal regions.

Personal and environmental cleanliness are important components in promoting clean and healthy living practices and fostering environmental awareness. However, knowledge and practices related to waste management in educational settings still need to be strengthened through contextual and participatory education. This community engagement program aimed to improve students’ understanding and environmental awareness regarding clean and healthy living practices and waste management at Al Fath Islamic Boarding School in Gebang. The program was conducted through socialization, interactive discussions, training, hands-on waste-sorting activities, and evaluation using pretests and posttests. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding, as indicated by an increase in the average score from 59.9% in the pretest to 88.3% in the posttest, representing an increase of 28.4 percentage points. The highest improvement was observed in the students’ ability to sort waste, which increased from 55.0% to 90.0%, representing a 35.0 percentage-point increase. In addition, students’ awareness of environmental cleanliness increased from 64.0% to 91.7%. These findings indicate that an educational approach combined with interactive discussions and hands-on practice can improve students’ understanding and awareness of clean and healthy living practices and waste management. Program sustainability through routine practice, adequate waste-sorting facilities, and regular monitoring is needed to support consistent behavioral implementation within the boarding school environment.

Menghidupkan Kembali Ruang Literasi: Revitalisasi Pojok Baca Berbasis Masyarakat di RW 08 Kelurahan Bojongsari Baru

Reading corners are important spaces for improving literacy in society and providing access to books within the community. However, these facilities will not be used to their full potential if the space, storage areas, and book collections are not well-organized. This community service project aims to improve the Reading Corner in RW 08, Bojongsari Baru Village, by optimizing existing facilities. The project took place from July to August 2026 using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involves the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The implementation of the activity included cleaning and painting the space, assembling and arranging the shelves, and organizing the book collection. The results of this activity showed improvements in the physical condition of the space, the organization of the facilities, and the arrangement of reading materials, making the reading corner more accessible and tidy for community use. The implications of this initiative suggest that improving existing facilities can serve as a solution for developing literacy spaces without the need to build new ones. However, the program has not yet quantitatively measured changes in reading interest among community members. Therefore, the revitalization of reading corners can serve as a first step toward maximizing the community’s literacy assets and should be supported by ongoing utilization and evaluation.
