Efektivitas Konseling Kelompok Terhadap Literasi Keuangan Dalam Minat Menabung Anak Usia Dini
Abstrak
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a group counseling model in the implementation of financial literacy to increase saving interest among early childhood children in a school environment. Group counseling that incorporates financial literacy for young children is an important aspect of character formation and the development of positive habits related to simple financial management. Introducing the concept of saving at an early age is expected to help children understand the value of money, develop frugality and discipline, and foster a sense of responsibility in using money wisely. However, in reality, some children still have low levels of interest in saving due to a lack of motivation and positive habits both at school and within the family environment. Therefore, it is necessary to implement financial literacy activities that are appropriate to the developmental characteristics of young children so that saving habits can develop optimally.
This study employed qualitative and Research and Development (R&D) methods. The qualitative method aimed to obtain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of financial literacy and its influence on young children's interest in saving. The population of this study consisted of early childhood children at Nurul Haq Kindergarten, Cirebon Regency. Data were collected through data triangulation by combining interviews, observations, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively to examine the implementation process and the impact of group counseling on financial literacy and children's saving behavior at school. Meanwhile, the R&D method was directed toward the development and validation of a saving literacy guide for young children. The results showed that the implementation of financial literacy through simple, engaging activities appropriate to children's developmental stages was able to improve their understanding of and habits related to saving. The children became more enthusiastic and interested in setting aside money to save and began to understand the importance of saving in everyday life. Therefore, the implementation of financial literacy was considered sufficiently effective in increasing young children's interest in saving at school.
